Episode 27: The Art of Sensuality — Reclaiming Your Body, Power, and Pleasure with Erin Fenske
💫Episode 27: The Art of Sensuality — with Erin Fenske
What does it truly mean to feel at home in your body?
In this deeply honest and expansive episode of Collective Guidance, I sit down with healer, mentor, artist, and embodied movement guide Erin Fenske to explore the often misunderstood — and deeply powerful — distinction between sensuality and sexuality.
This conversation is an invitation to come back to yourself.
Sensuality vs. Sexuality: What’s the Difference?
One of the most important themes Erin and I explore is how sensuality and sexuality, while related, are not the same.
Sensuality is inward-facing.
It’s about embodiment, presence, creativity, pleasure, aliveness, and feeling safe inside your body.Sexuality is often outward-facing.
It can be expressive, magnetic, erotic, and connective — but when untethered from sensuality, it can become performative rather than authentic.
When sensuality leads, sexuality becomes richer, more grounded, and more aligned with who we truly are.
Erin’s Journey: From Survival to Embodiment
Erin vulnerably shares how sobriety became the catalyst for her reconnection with her body. After years of surviving rather than living, she began what she calls the journey of “coming home to the body.”
Through movement — particularly pole dance and heels — Erin reclaimed:
Safety in her physical body
Creative expression through movement
Authentic self-trust and confidence
A deeper spiritual connection
What began as a personal healing practice eventually became a path of service, helping other women release shame and reclaim agency over how they inhabit and express themselves.
Dance as Healing, Not Performance
A powerful takeaway from this episode is Erin’s perspective on dance and movement — not as something to be consumed by others, but as something that belongs first and foremost to you.
When you are both the performer and the audience, something shifts:
You move for sensation, not validation
You express rather than perform
You embody rather than objectify
This is where sensuality lives.
Aging, Hormones, and Rewriting the Narrative
We also dive into an important conversation around aging, hormones, and the outdated belief that sensuality and sexuality fade with time.
In truth, many women report feeling:
More confident
More embodied
More self-assured
More sexually alive
in their 40s and beyond — when they are supported hormonally and emotionally.
We discuss the importance of:
Listening to your body
Exploring hormone health when desire changes
Releasing shame around perimenopause and menopause
Reclaiming pleasure as a lifelong birthright
Sensuality Begins With You
One of the most grounding messages from this episode is this:
When your sensuality belongs to you first, it can never be taken away.
When pleasure, confidence, and embodiment are sourced internally — not from a partner, attention, or validation — they remain steady no matter who comes or goes in your life.
This is self-trust in its most embodied form.
An Invitation to Explore
If you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body…
If you’ve wondered where your desire went…
If you’re ready to feel more alive, present, and at home within yourself…
This episode is for you.
There is no one right way to reclaim sensuality. For some it’s movement. For others it’s breath, art, nature, stillness, or sound. What matters most is curiosity, compassion, and the willingness to meet yourself exactly where you are.
