83 : What Nobody Tells You About the Law of Attraction
💫Episode 83 : What Nobody Tells You About the Law of Attraction
"Have you ever felt quite a nudge? This quiet little pull toward something you can't quite name? Some part of you already knows there's more, even when your mind can't explain what 'more' means. That nudge isn't random. It's your soul calling you home to yourself."
That is the invitation Dr. Maria Catarina Inglesby extends — and she does so not from the clouds of abstract spirituality, but from the grounded, specific, sometimes painful clarity of someone who has actually lived the journey she describes.
In Episode 83 of Collective Guidance, host Charla Goodnight returns to one of the most expansive conversations the show has hosted — this time having read Dr. Maria's book Soaring Beyond: Transcending the Known into Unbelievable Success in full. What follows is a rich, practical, deeply illuminating conversation about what it actually means to ascend, what stands in the way, and how to begin the process of returning to the cosmic light being you have always been.
Who Is Dr. Maria Catarina Inglesby?
Dr. Maria is a transformational guide, energy channel, and author with a PhD from UC Davis — a university medal recipient who began her career in research before making a leap that, from the outside, might have looked counterintuitive. She left the world of scientific rigor to answer a spiritual calling that had been knocking at her door insistently, quietly, then louder, until she could no longer ignore it.
Today she bridges scientific precision with an expansive understanding of consciousness, drawing on years of energy healing and inner alchemy journeying. She serves as a spiritual advisor to individuals committed to conscious soul growth — guiding them not just to understand the journey intellectually, but to embody it.
The Two Biggest Knowns We're Being Called to Transcend
Dr. Maria names a collective mass awakening currently underway — a cosmic shift foretold by sages for eons. And with it comes an invitation to transcend what is familiar. She identifies two patterns as the most urgent:
1. Fear
Fear is the current underneath nearly every form of suffering. At its deepest root, Dr. Maria identifies it as the fear of non-existence — the conditioned belief, especially in Western culture, that consciousness has a clean beginning at birth and a definitive end at death.
But the first cosmic law, she says, is simple: I am existence. I always exist. I have always existed.
When we embody that knowing — not just intellectually, but viscerally, in our blood and bones — our grip on fear begins to loosen. Not through fighting it. Not through suppressing it. But through dropping through the noise, into stillness, and reconnecting with the eternal essence that we are.
"Fear feeds upon itself. Every time we give it attention, we give away our power. But love dissolves fear. And so the practice is simply: am I coming from fear, or am I coming from love?"
That question — held in small daily moments before small daily decisions — is where the work begins.
2. Judgment
Judgment is subtler than fear, and that's what makes it harder to catch. Dr. Maria offers a reframe that lands like a revelation: all judgment is self-judgment. What we project outward as criticism of others is always, at its root, something we're judging in ourselves — something hidden in the subconscious because it feels too uncomfortable to look at directly.
The material world, she explains, is a mammoth mirror. Everything we see playing out around us — collectively and personally — is a reflection of what lives inside.
But she makes an important distinction: judgment is different from discernment. You don't have to like everything. You don't have to vibe with every person or every frequency. Saying this doesn't belong in my energy field is discernment, not judgment. The difference is resistance. Judgment fights. Discernment releases.
"We just need to accept that thing over there and let it be what it is. It serves another soul's journey. It just does not belong in mine."
You Are Not a Physical Separate Entity — You Are a Light Being
Here is where Dr. Maria's scientific background meets her spiritual understanding in a way that is genuinely mind-expanding.
Your physical body is made up of trillions of atoms. Each atom is not inert matter — each atom is a conscious, vibrating, light-filled creature. A sodium atom knows it's sodium. An aluminum atom knows it's aluminum. Each element behaves according to its nature with extraordinary precision.
Now take that one step further: if every atom is a light being with its own frequency, then you are made up of trillions of little light beings — all oscillating, all vibrating, all in constant exchange with the environment around you. You breathe in conscious light beings. You breathe them out. The air, the water, your emotions, your thoughts — all vibrational. All exchanging.
There is, technically speaking, no boundary between you and the world. The boundary is an optical illusion created by your brain. You are not a separate solid entity. You are a highly individualized light being in constant energy exchange with an infinitely vast vibrational universe.
And the universe, Dr. Maria says, responds to your vibrations 24/7. Not just the ones you consciously intend — all of them. This is what the Law of Attraction actually means, understood correctly: not that you can think your way to a new car, but that as a vibrational being, you are always already creating. The question is whether you are creating consciously or unconsciously.
"If I learn to master my own energy field — because it is emitting vibrations constantly — the universe responds. That's a very powerful thing to understand."
What Ascension Actually Means — Practically
The word ascension gets thrown around in spiritual spaces without much practical grounding. Dr. Maria brings it back to earth.
Ascension, she explains, is directly correlated with depth. You cannot rise without being willing to descend. The soul's evolution moves both directions simultaneously — deeper into the earth, deeper into matter, deeper into honest self-examination — and upward into expanded consciousness and higher frequencies.
There is no shortcut. Spiritual bypassing — the practice of leaping to love and light without doing the shadow work — doesn't work. The soul will simply keep bringing the unexamined thing back, in a new costume, until it's finally looked at.
She describes it through her character Lily — her feisty little human mind, the ego voice that says how the hell did I get here? Lily is not the enemy. She's adorable. She's trying to help. But Lily is not qualified to be CEO of your life. The little mind operating as master is, at its core, separation consciousness — and it is precisely what this cosmic shift is asking us to release.
"The depth and the ascent are correlated. You can't just say, 'I'm a good girl and I'm going to go flying now.' Soul will bring things to you to look at. The antagonist in your life is not here to create suffering — it's a messenger."
Soul Sovereignty — What It Is and How to Reclaim It
Soul sovereignty is not a destination. It's a daily practice of choosing the soul over the little mind.
It begins with this: recognizing that you are not your persona. You are not Maria, or Charla, or whatever identity and role you play in the world. Those are expressions. The soul beneath them is a free cosmic light being — self-aware, source-connected, and inherently whole.
Reclaiming sovereignty means becoming discerning about your energy field. Asking, moment by moment: Am I coming from love or from fear? From my heart or from my judgment? Is this decision aligned with my soul's knowing — or am I selling my integrity for someone else's expectations?
And critically: if the decision on the table creates harm anywhere in the collective — step out of it. Even when logic protests. Even when it's costly. Because you cannot be a free sovereign soul while trading that freedom for external approval.
Two Practical Tools for Connecting With Your Energy
Tool 1: Feel the energy between your palms. Hold your palms facing each other, about an inch apart. Gently, slowly move them closer together and further apart. Every day, a little practice. Within 30 days, most people begin to feel something — warmth, pressure, a subtle buzzing. That energy is yours. That is your field. Learning to feel it is the beginning of learning to navigate by it.
Tool 2: Learn your body's yes and no. Once you begin to feel energy in your body, you'll start to notice its language. A full-body champagne buzz that says hallelujah, yes. A contracted, tight, can't-breathe sensation that says this is not it. An elephant on the chest. Lips going numb. Throat closing. Stomach going sideways. These are your soul's signals. Learn them. Trust them. Honor them — even when logic pulls in another direction.
A Note on Language
Dr. Maria offers one of the most elegant reframes in the episode around the phrase I am.
In spiritual tradition, I am is divine presence. It is the sacred affirmation of your connection to source. So when you say I am angry or I am anxious — you are literally declaring that your identity is the emotion.
The shift: I feel angry. Anger is upon me. And then it passes.
The Irish language, Dr. Maria shares, has this built in: "Anger is upon me." Not I am anger. The emotion moves through. It is not you.
Reserve I am for what is eternal: I am whole. I am conscious light. I am source energy. I am loved.
